For everyone involved, Pukekos is a place to be me. A place to nurture knowledge, skills and attitudes for life and about life. A place where aspirations and diversity are embraced and celebrated. A place where collaboration and co-operation is our cherished approached to working together, in a holistic environment that is natural, stimulating and engaging. A place where respect, communication, relationships and working together is what we treasure most about Pukekos.

What Our Mission Statement Really Means To Us...

Respect – Whakaute

We believe that respect is to tend to, and care for, ourselves, the rights and dignity of others, and the environment that sustains life.

Relationships – Whanaungatanga

We believe kinship, (encompassing family / whaanau) is the foundation of this principle. Being part of the larger whole of a community which includes a relationship with our surroundings. Whanaungatanga provides people with a sense of belonging. It also serves to strengthen each member of the group.

Communication – Mana Reo

We believe communication in its diverse nature provides everyone with the ability to be expressive, listened to, acknowledged and understood in an open, honest, and reciprocal environment.

Working Together – He Mahitahi

We believe in a collaborative approach to all aspects of centre life. This includes an integrated curriculum, which supports Tuakana teina (where children learn from and support each other). This principal also recognises Ako (teaching and learning through reciprocal relationships).

This is a place where respect, communication, relationships and working together is what we treasure most about Pukekos.

…and that’s how we roll !
